Introduction
Condition monitoring of machinery is the measurement of various parameters related to the mechanical condition of the machinery (such as vibration, bearing temperature, oil pressure, oil debris, and performance), which makes it possible to determine whether the machinery is in good or bad mechanical condition. If the mechanical condition is bad, then condition monitoring makes it possible to determine the cause of the problem.

Vibration Analysis is used to detect early precursors to machine, allowing machinery to be repaired or replaced before an expensive failure occurs. All rotating equipment vibrates to some degree, but as older bearings and components reach the end of their product life they begin to vibrate more dramatically, and in distinct ways. Ongoing monitoring of equipment allows these signs of wear and damage to be identified well before the damage becomes an expensive problem.

The EMERSON CSI 2140 Vibration data collector and analyser takes vibration measurements to the next level with simultaneous four-channel plus phase data collection and unique peak detection capabilities for the earliest indication of bearing and gearbox degradation. The CSI 2140 can provide: Route vibration collection, Advanced vibration analysis, Cross-channel analysis, Transient analysis, Dynamic balancing, Motor monitoring andODS modal analysis.

Wirelessly upload route data and corrective maintenance jobs from the field to AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager for analysis and reporting. AMS Machinery Manager integrates data from multiple technologies, including vibration, oil analysis, thermography, and balancing into a single database.

Lube-Oil Analysis

One of the keys to keeping machinery operating at optimal performance involves monitoring and analyzing lubricant oils for characteristics such as contamination, chemical content and viscosity.
